How to use it
A pinch, bloomed, added late.
A generous pinch, about 0.1 g, seasons a dish for four. A gram is roughly ten dishes.
Steep the threads in two or three tablespoons of warm water, stock or milk for twenty minutes. The liquid turns deep gold.
Pour threads and liquid in near the end of cooking. Long boiling dulls the aroma.
